Created in 1988, Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM) is celebrated from September 15-October 15. It corresponds with the Independence Days of eight Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua, as well as Belize, Chile and Mexico. During this 30-day timespan, Hispanic cultures across the United States recognize and celebrate the contributions they have made to American society.
