If you were lucky enough to get a new smartphone for the holidays, then you could be forgiven for feeling a little overwhelmed by all the amazing features. Smartphones are no longer just for making calls and texting – they are more like mini computers. And just like those devices, they are capable of generating enjoyment and frustration in almost equal measures.
But don’t despair if you can’t master every feature right out of the box – there is plenty of help at hand. In fact, Verizon Wireless has more help pages and tutorials on its web site than any other carrier. Here are some of the Verizon tools that can help you get the most out of your smartphone:
Explore your device
The first place to start is under the Explore tab on the Verizon home page, where you can find detailed information about dozens of smartphones, along with tablets, mobile hotspots, netbooks, and many other devices.
The smartphone section contains the detailed specs and features for over 50 different devices, including the iPhone 4S, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the Droid Bionic and all the other great Verizon phones.
Use the device Simulator
However, if you really want to get down and dirty with your smartphone, mouse over the Support tab on the home page and click on Get Help With Your Device. Here you will find manuals and how-to tutorials for over 450 devices, including hundreds of smartphones and basic phones.
Many of the pages include Verizon’s unique Simulator feature, which provides an interactive tutorial on all the phones’ features, including how to make a call, how to text, how to use e-mail, how to use the camera, and how to use the web browser. There are also tutorials on how to download and use apps, including Verizon’s top-rated VZ Navigator app.
Included in the support section for each device are Community Advice and Troubleshooting pages, which provide invaluable advice and tips from other smartphone users.
Learn more
Back under the Explore tab is another informative section called Discover Wireless Features, which takes a more in-depth look at some of the features that can be the most confusing to new smartphone owners. This section includes advice on how to get the most out of your camera, how to sync e-mail accounts, and everything you need to know about apps.
My Verizon
And if you have just received a new Verizon smartphone or other device, don’t forget to register for My Verizon, which provides you with everything you need to manage your Verizon Wireless account, including more information on texting and access to important tools like Verizon Safeguards and V CAST Media Manager.
So now you can really tap into the power your new smartphone. Whatever you need to know, Verizon can help!
